Go Vocal is a B Corp Certified company on a mission to make democracy more inclusive, participatory, and responsive through our community engagement platform. We’re made up of a dedicated team of innovators, strategists, and technologists committed to bringing democracy into the 21st century. 

From democracy and citizen lab to the centerpiece of a strong local democracy

Founded as CitizenLab in 2015, we set out with a bold vision: to address the critical need for rebuilding trust between governments and residents. Our innovative digital engagement platform provided a space for communities to collaborate and co-create solutions, bridging the gap between residents and decision-makers.

Since those early days, we’ve grown far beyond a democracy lab. We’ve empowered over 2 million community members to participate in 20,000+ projects and partnered with 500+ local governments and organizations to foster a culture of engagement that prioritizes inclusivity and collaboration.

It became clear that the identity we started with no longer fully captured who we are today. From a tool for ideation, we’ve evolved into a centerpiece for local democracy—empowering communities to make their voices heard and governments to make efficient, inclusive, and data-driven decisions.

In May 2024, we embraced this transformation with a new identity: Go Vocal. A name that reflects our commitment to amplifying voices and driving systemic change in how decisions are made.
